Establishing an online business is a lot like jumping into a boxing match with 100 top ranked contenders at the same time. There's no love lost between competing Internet marketers, and the winner takes the six and seven figure annual income to the bank, month by month. And it takes lots more than brains and a good product or service to make money in this business.

E-commerce is an extremely competitive business. You’ll want to prepare yourself with the proper know-how and the tools to make your site soar above the rest. Each day, more and more sites are clambering to optimize their rankings in websites and if you lose your guard, you may just get trampled on and be left in the abyss filled with so many failed e-commerce sites.

The customers that will help you make money online are accustomed to looking through the top five to ten search results and making a buying decision. A marketer will gain a much better chunk of the shopping market if she knows her way around search engine optimization.

As an Internet marketer your best bet for gaining a foothold with a high ranking site is to take advantage of the inside tips for building SEO strength into every facet of your site. The hoped for outcome is that your traffic numbers will climb to ever higher levels, based on your progress.

Learning the ins and outs of SEO is a huge benefit to any Internet marketer, whether or not you’re building your own websites and content. Comparing a solidly built and technically perfect site, compared with a modestly built site that has been built with a focus on the highest level of SEO, will always put the former in the top ranks of traffic grabbing websites.

So once again, what is search engine optimization? Search engine optimization is utilizing tools and methods in making your site top ranking in the results of search engines. Getting yourself in the first page and better yet in the top half of the page will ensure that your site will generate public awareness of your site’s existence and subsequently generate more traffic, traffic that could lead to potential income and business.

You may also need to rewrite your sites contents so that you could get the right keyword phrases in your site without making it too commercial but light and informative. There are certain rules and guidelines to be followed with making your site’s content applicable and conducive to search engine optimization.

Should your business be using next generation business marketing strategies like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook to promote your business? Creating a successful and meaningful marketing strategy for your business can often times seem tricky, but using free sources such as the social networking sites and tools I mentioned above can help you reach the amount of people you need to succeed. The catch is to get the word out in a casual manner rather than pushing your business or product upon them with questions and education, which you can do through using Facebook to promote your business

Focus on quality, not quantity:

As you begin to use Facebook to promote your business you will initially be concerned with how many friends and fans you can add to your site. But this is not always the best strategy. It will be important to focus on kindling those new friendships and working on building and solidifying relationships, because that’s the key element in using these next generation business marketing strategies. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

Relationship first, business second:

It will be important to work on rapport with the friends and fans that you add to your Facebook page. If you are unsure how to add friends simply ask. Ask for email addresses when you meet new clients, add it to the contact portion of any membership or paperwork new clients need to fill out. Work on the rapport with the new clients and friends; remember special occasions, treat them as they are your only member/client.

Follow Through:

Roughly 9 out of 10 people will say they are going to do something, and then for whatever reasons do not follow through with what they said they will do. It is important as a role model and spokesperson for your business to be 100% sure that you do follow through with what you say you are going to do. Use Facebook to follow through with anything you say you will do, if you did work for someone thank them with a comment on their page, offer a free service or discount then follow through with that. This is a great way to use Facebook to promote your business.

Be authentic:

Sometimes it can seem difficult to know whether someone is strictly luring you in through a sales pitch, or if you are truly concerned with a potential client. Use Facebook to promote your business to show that you do care about what it is you offer; use the status page as a window for “tips or suggestions.”

Be interested in others more than in yourself:

Pay attention to what your employees and Facebook friends are saying on their pages, if you see someone is having a rough day, offer a few words of wisdom. Go through and make comments, check on clients offer discounts and specials for that “one” client every now and then. Show people you care about your business not the money you make, this can all be done while using Facebook to promote your business. Focus on building relationships and the money will follow.

Differentiating your business from your competition is what every business owner should be striving for and what better way to do that than to make your Facebook business page unique. Here are five “Must Know” tips to help you make your Facebook business page unique:

1. Popularity Content

The more common way that a Facebook page will make new friends are due to common friends, or friends of interest. There are roughly 150 friends per Facebook page currently, and the majority of these are all going to be connected to one another through common friends of interest.
While there are connections to other social network sites, it is possible to make your Facebook business page unique in connecting this page with other social network sites like Twitter for an example.

2. Fan Yourself Silly

If you are hoping to see all of your friends also become ‘fans’ of your business, this is going to be crucial in your attempts to creating a Facebook business page that is unique and different from your competitors. Offer something special for those friends or customers that do go through and become a fan of your Facebook page. On average other Facebook users only become a ‘fan’ of a page or business twice during a 30 day (or monthly) period.

3. Create a Unique Facebook Business Page

Work on activating the friends you currently have into fans rather than focusing on adding more and more friends. Friends and customers are always great to have, but take care and tend for the ones you have and recruit them from friends to fans. This can be done by creating an overly unique Facebook business page. The average fan site will have 10,000 fans.

4. What You Say Not How Often You Say It

Keep up on your posts and add new blogs, advice or stories in correlation to your business, but keep in mind that it’s not going to be how much you log in and report on your Facebook page, but in order to make your Facebook business page unique you will need to offer unique advice, services and opportunities to clients and future consumers depending on your business or services. Don’t just pitch your products or push the hard sell because this is just the place for it. Remember that Facebook is all about building relationships.

5. Customized News Feed&

When you are adding new information it’s important to keep a watchful eye on what kind of information you are going to be putting on your site. The newest addition to Facebook is the ability to customize what kind of news feed is displayed on your page. This will allow you to make your Facebook business page unique and offer you the opportunity to set yourself apart from other businesses services or organizations similar to yours.

Introducing new and innovative marketing concepts into your existing marketing communication strategy can give the most confident of business owners more than a few sleepless nights, however, anyone who knows anything about marketing knows that you need to be where your customers are to sell your products or service and right now your customers are on Facebook. So while it may seem a little overwhelming and risky to go ahead and introduce Facebook into your marketing communication strategy, the marketing strategy of allowing yourself to get down there with your clients to learn more about their needs, and how you can better serve them, leaves the impression with your clients that you are truly interested in earning their business and money as well.

If you are unsure if your business should use Facebook in your marketing communication strategy here are a few reasons why you should:

1. 350 Million and growing

Facebook has proudly announced recently that they had passed 350 million members, meaning, if it were its own country, it would be the third largest in world. What better way to utilize a free marketing tool?

2. 100 Million U.S. Users
With over 100 million US users you are introducing yourself to the entire US nation of consumers in one location, with the potential for them to read about your business what you have to offer, clients can leave comments, and you can introduce a FAQ page from your site as well. This is the top leader in social networking today.

3. An hour a day

On average there will be an hour a day per Facebook user. This is more face time than any radio or billboard ad that you would spend thousands if not millions of dollars on for advertising, yet another great reason to introduce Facebook as your business marketing communication strategy.

4. Nearly 80,000 Sites Using Facebook Connect

Now your clients do not have to get online (at a PC) in order to get to Facebook or see posts, advertisements or apps. There are over 80,000 different locations online, and phones that offer the Facebook app. Currently Facebook is leading over Google as the main website as well; Just another reason to introduce your business marketing communication strategy to Facebook.

With these four reasons, introducing Facebook into your businesses marketing communication strategy becomes less of a risky undertaking. Not only is Facebook free for personal and professional use, you will be saving fistfuls of cash that would normally be spent on advertising, while raking in the profits from any new clientele you can earn through Facebook.

If you’re still harboring any doubts about whether or not to introduce Facebook into your business marketing communication strategy than perhaps you should log into your Facebook account and check out your competitors Facebook page and see what you are missing out on.

bIn this Facebook tutorial I will explain how to set up your email auto-responder in your Facebook Fanpage. It’s easier than you might think so let’s stop chit chatting about it and get right to today’s tutorial…

You’re going to need to log into your Facebook account. Once you’ve logged in click on the button on the left side of your page that says ads and pages. If you don’t see it you might have to click on the little “see more ” to expand that section…

Once you’ve opened up your Ads and Pages page you will need to install an application called Static FBML. This is kind of like html which is the language used to build websites…(AKA Hyper text markup language) This FBML is Facebooks version which is called Facebook Markup language. Now before you go “runnin off to the hills” screaming cause you know nothing about coding…bear with me…you’ll see you don’t really need to know coding to do this…you just need to know where to put your auto-responder code which will be generated for you…

So where was I…right you’ve opened the ads and pages and should now scroll all the way to the bottom where you’re going to search for the application called “Static FBML”. You’re then going to Click the “Applications” icon, then click “Add to My Page”, found on the left side.

Note: I heard from a few people that it’s not an easy application to track down so to help ya out…you can CLICK HERE to be taken directly to the app page…

This will open a new window which should display your Facebook page(s). Then you simply click on the “Add to Page” button on the right hand side of the page you want to add your autoresponder code to show. When you’ve done that look down towards the bottom of your page and click on the “Ads and Pages” icon.

You’re then going to click on the link titled “Pages”. This is found towards the top of that page, then scroll down until you find the “FBML” section… See the pencil icon? You’re going to click on it which will give you a few options…click the “Edit” option.

Now, you’re going to log into you’re autoresponder account.

If you haven’t purchased email marketing software yet I suggest you look into aWeber. I’ve been using them for a few years now and have never had a problem with their service and highly recommend it…I actually fandangled a deal for ya if you’re interested in an autoresponder service…fill out the form below to test drive aWeber…

Take a Free Test Drive today!

anyway, if you already have Email Marketing Software you’re going to go ahead and create your webform. When you’ve finished your webform you’re going to need to copy the HTML for your form to your clipboard. Then you’re going to return to your Facebook account, and paste the HTML in the FBML box. Once that’s done you’re going to click “Save Changes”.

Now let’s check out how that form looks on your Facebook page…click on the “Ads and Pages” icon at the bottom again. Then, click “Pages” at the top then click “View Pages”. Look where your tabs are and click on the tab with the plus (+) sign, and choose “FBML” from the drop-down menu…and voila!

For those of you out there that would prefer a video explaining these steps you’re in luck…Check out Kasey’s video below…

So, you’ve finally got around to creating that video for your website you’ve been putting off and are now wondering what exactly to do with it. Well in today’s tutorial I am going to show you exactly how to upload a YouTube video.

Before we get into today’s tutorial there are a few things you’re going to need

You will need:

It’s important to know that you don’t have to be Martin Scorsese or George Lucas to create a video for your business. You can make a pretty professional looking video for YouTube using a digital camera, web cam or cell phone. To edit your video, you can use Windows MovieMaker, iMovie (Mac) or any number of other programs.

I use two different video cameras to create my videos and they didn’t break the bank either. One of the digital cameras I use is the FlipHD. I love this digital video camera for its simplicity as well as it’s ease of useand have recently purchased I use two different cameras to shoot videos

Learning how to Embed YouTube Videos into your website is very important if you want to show videos. Videos are crazy hot on the internet as they can showcase a product or perhaps even demonstrate how something is done. So in today’s tutorial I;m going to be showing you just how easy is is to embed a video of your or someone else onto your website the steps below should work with most videos and websites.

…So let’s get to today’s tutorial about embedding videos shall we!

Step 1: Get the Embed Code

The quickest way to grab the embed code is while you’re viewing a video. Directly below the video, you’ll see an Embed button. Simply click it.

Step 2: Customize the video & player

Once you click the embed button, more options will appear.

Include related videos

Show a border around the video

Enable privacy mode (no cookies are set by YouTube)

Use iframe embedded code (used for playing with YouTube’s HTML5 and Flash players)

Select a player color scheme that will blend well with your website

Select the size of the video you want to play – or create a custom size

The embed code will automatically update based on the selections you choose. You can also see a thumbnail preview of your choices as you make them.

Once you’ve made your selections, copy and paste the embed code given.

Step 3: Paste Embed Code into a Webpage

Now that you have your embed code, you will log into the website where you want to add the video. In this example, we’re adding it to a wordpress post.

Make sure you are in the HTML portion of your page.

Step 4: Check the Video

Check the video to ensure it is located where you want and it is playing properly.

So let’s get to today’s tutorial on customizing your Youtube channel…

Your personal channel is automatically created when you create your account. There are many ways to customize your channel; let’s take a look at a few.

Step 1: Tab Options

Once you’re logged into your YouTube account, at the top of the page, you’ll see some tabs. These control your channel settings, themes, colors, videos and more.

Bulletin: The first tab is where you can post a bulletin to your subscribers, friends, home page and channel page. You can include a link to a YouTube video as well. Just enter your message and press “Post Bulletin”.

Settings: The settings tab will show you your channel URL. Here you can enter a title & keyword tags for your channel, select the type of channel it will be and set whether or not it is visible to others. See the following page for images…

The image & information below shows the channel types that you can choose from & the customization options that each type allows.

Be sure to save your changes before moving on.

All accounts share the basic features on YouTube like uploading, commenting, sharing, video responses, etc. The specialized account types offer different customization options:

Director: Allows customized “Performer Info” to be displayed on your Profile page, describing yourself, your influences and your style.

Musician: Allows custom logo, genre and tour date information, and CD purchase links on your Profile page.

Modules: Modules control what is shown on your channel page. Simply select the modules you want displayed and unselect the ones you don’t want displayed.

Click Save Changes before moving on.

Tip: You can change the order in which your modules appear on your channel. To do this, go to your channel page & locate the directional arrow buttons in the upper right-hand corner of each module. Click the button(s) necessary to move the module to its new location.

Video & Playlists: The Video & Playlists tab is where you set what to display and highlight on your channel page. You can set the layout (player view or grid view), which video to play first when someone lands on your channel page and whether the video should autoplay or wait for the visitor to press play.

Don’t forget to save your changes!

Step 2: Edit Remaining Items

Once you have everything laid out the way you want, it’s time to edit the details of each area. To do this, simply click the “Edit” link in each section and fill in the missing details.

Internet Business Defamation Appears Forever

Internet Business Defamation Appears Forever

The thing about verbal insults is that they pass away on the breeze. We all move on, learn as people. The world keeps spinning and no lasting damage is done. Maybe a lesson is learned. But the Internet works differently. Anything negative written about a person or a business will stick around forever, appearing almost sadistically high on search results, hurting reputations long after the negativity was first unleashed.

The best way to fight bad, if you’ve read your comics, is with good. The Internet remembers all that too, of course, and if you’ve got enough of it out there, the bad stuff drifts away. For this, you’ll want to recruit a reputation repair service to unleash the good and wash away the bad.

Repair Business Defamation Without a Judge

If you command the links, you command the search rankings. A reputation repair service generates content which forces the sites with all the bad stuff down off the first pages, down even off the first ten pages, where it’s basically never heard from again. The Internet working for you again.

In place of the bad stuff is content that will paint a better picture of you or your business. After that, of course, you’re on your own. But anyway people will get a much better impression of who you are — and without the lawsuits or the back-alley brawls that solved these kinds of problems in previous eras. This is the future, after all. We settle out disputes at the keyboard.

Bring Back Your Sparkling Reputation After Business Defamation

This service works for people and businesses who may have sparkling reputations… to the three people who know them. A reputation repair service can also help you build a reputation where you might be a total unknown. In the global popularity contest that is the Internet, having a name at the top of the results is worth its weight in newspaper ads and handbills.

All these rules, all these tricks. It seems like a big game at times. And maybe it is. Cause like a game, you can sure win. Or lose. Your game piece in this scenario is your online image, and whether that self is an individual or represents a business, it’s a self that needs to be taken care of at all times. You see how easy it is to be attacked, how difficult it can be to restore your good name. So take precautions now and you will be prepared. Your online self will be in good shape to play this planet-wide game.

Alternatives to a Defamation Suit

Alternatives to a Defamation Suit

Sometimes bad news follows us around. With the Internet’s ability to remember ever little thing, that happens even more often. Someone doesn’t like you or your business and, whether that opinion is valid or not, they send out some kind of attack over the electric wires. And that’s the stuff that sticks around forever, haunting your reputation and damaging your business.

It’s not all monsters out there online to chew you up, though. What kind of a place would the Internet be? No, it’s a big electric nest for new ideas, so you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that solutions have sprung up. In this case, one solution is to recruit the aid of a reputation repair service. These businesses will scrub away the bad.

Alternate Choice to a Defamation Suit

There’s a trick to making it work for you, of course. Sites get ranked on search pages based on how many sites link to it, so a reputation repair service can force negative stuff down by out-linking it with the service’s own generated content. The insults and potentially libelous stuff get forced from the limelight of those first search pages, 10-20 pages or more down, where they are forgotten.

It’s a solution that only could exist on the Internet. It’s familiar though — giving a good first impression. After that, you’re on your own. But at least it levels the playing field a bit, gets those few damaging comments off the radar and allows the rest of us to form our own opinion of who you really are. (Be on your best behavior.)

Defamation Suit or Reputation Service

Let’s assume for the moment you’re the nicest person on the Web (which probably isn’t that hard to do, actually). You might still be a total unknown, which for a business is only slightly less bad than having a bad reputation. These reputation repair services can push that name of yours up the search results, giving you a good reputation where before you had, let’s face it, none.

The Internet may seem like one big crazy magic box at times, full of rules and regulations that perhaps don’t always make the most sense. It was designed a long time ago, and some of its oldest DNA is still at work. So you just have to take it and run with it. But don’t ignore it; you’ve got an online self in here, and if you own a business or a just trying to find a job you need to make sure you’ve got control of that image at all times. Keep in mind that more people may see it than see your actual real-world self. That’s the crazy thing.
